AMUG 2019

Todd Grimm's keynote exposed that additive was only approaching industrial quality machines.  This notion made its way into almost every talk when presenters had to qualify what they meant by industrial. All exhibitors are taking steps to get closer to production quality machines.    Every exhibitor had something new to show and made it worth stopping and asking.  Aurora Labs has a novel way of spreading material in a DMLS machine that can improve productivity. Renishaw Additive Manufacturing improved gas flow so they can get better quality parts faster from their quad laser system.  HP Inc is showing a full color binder jet process.  Stratasys introduced their SLA machine and a new FDM offering with heated chamber in the $12,000 range.  PostProcess Technologies address the most overlooked necessity by showed washing and smoothing machines with programming and monitoring software.
